Credit and Non-Credit Options
Londen Institute students may enroll in residencies or online courses at two levels:
- Audit. Audit students enroll for personal enrichment without seeking university credit. To receive recognition for an audit, students must simply log in each week to an online course or attend the residency, missing no more than 10% of the class sessions. The Institute encourages audit students to complete related readings and assignments, but they are not required to do so and they do not receive a final grade. A successful audit will be recorded on a Hope International University transcript.
- Credit. Students who enroll for academic credit must likewise log in each week to an online course or attend the residency. They must complete all readings and assignments, and a final grade will be recorded on their University transcript.
For each course and residency, the Institute or University will prepare a syllabus that specifies readings and assignments required to earn academic credit. Participants must complete all assignments by the end of an online course or within 10 weeks of the end of a residency. Residency students will typically complete their assignments after the residency. However, in some cases, pre-residency readings and assignments may be required.
